Effective July 31, 2025, New “Add Line Item” Features Aim to Reduce Administrative Errors
MassHealth has announced important updates to the Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Provider Portal that will take effect on Thursday, July 31, 2025. These changes are designed to help home health providers streamline prior authorization (PA) requests and reduce administrative errors.
Key Updates to the “Add Line Item” Page:
- New Data Columns: The updated Phase table will now include columns for:
- Requested Effective Date
- Requested End Date
- Number of Days
- Requested Visits per Week
- Requested PRN Visits (as needed)
- Requested Units
- Auto-Calculation of Units: The system will automatically calculate the total units based on the entered dates, number of days, and weekly visits. This enhancement is intended to minimize manual errors and administrative burden on providers.
- Improved Flexibility: Providers will be able to add or remove rows in the Phase table to adjust (or “wean”) services over time.
- Important Note: Requested PRN Visits can only be entered in the first phase row but will apply across the entire requested date range.
