EOHHS Career Ladder Program: Opportunity for Home Health & CSN Agencies

EOHHS encourages expanded participation in Career Ladder Program

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) recently contacted the Home Care Alliance to encourage greater participation by home health and Continuous Skilled Nursing (CSN) agencies in the Career Ladder Program (CLP). While a small number of agencies are already participating, EOHHS indicated that funding remains available and they are eager to expand the program to additional providers.
The Career Ladder Program is a state- and federally funded initiative that supports direct-care workers in home health and CSN in becoming Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Through CLP, eligible employees receive tuition support, coaching, and a weekly advanced wage stipend paid through their employer while attending an LPN program. Participating agencies agree to reduce the employee’s hours to allow for schooling, and the employee commits to working for the agency for at least two years after licensure.
Agencies that may be interested in learning more or participating are encouraged to contact Susan Misiorski at smisiorski@maseniorcare.org. HCA will continue to monitor interest in this program and share additional details as they become available.
