Strengthening the Case Against CMS Cuts
The Home Care Alliance (HCA) recently worked with its partners at the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association (MHA) on comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in response to the CY2026 Proposed Home Health Rule. In its letter, MHA writes, "Widely-published data recognizes that when home health referrals are unsuccessful, patients are at much higher risk for mortality, readmission to hospitals, and higher-cost care in nursing homes... We respectfully urge CMS to withdraw these cuts and work with home health providers to sustain a payment system that protects access to home health care and relieves pressure on the entire health care delivery system in Massachusetts." HCA is grateful for MHA's involvement in this advocacy effort, and it illustrates the continued strengthening of our partnership across the care continuum in recent years. |
