Storming Capitol Hill for Home Care

Storming Capitol Hill for Home Care

Massachusetts advocates join national push to protect patients and providers

Yesterday, the Home Care Alliance joined over 230 other advocates from across the country in storming Capitol Hill to meet with over 300 Members of Congress on a wide range of issues facing the care at home industry.
As part of its inaugural Advocacy Week, the National Alliance for Care at Home organized the industry's largest event in our Nation's Capital in many years.
There was a clear undercurrent of unity among providers, business solution vendors and State Associations - regardless of service line. Your Massachusetts representation came together to meet with several members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation to communicate several key points and requests:
  1. Additional cuts to the Medicare Home Health Benefit will have devastating impacts to patients, and the overall health care system.
  2. Reject any effort to integrate the hospice benefit into Medicare Advantage.
  3. Telehealth flexibilities for home health, hospice and palliative care must be made permanent.
  4. Congress must closely monitor the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) on Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) Medicaid Programs.
As is always the case, advocating alongside industry leaders is inspiring and reinvigorating. Even if you weren't able to join us, I plead with you to take 1 minute and email your member of congress and reinforce our message at this link.
