State House of Reps Passed Home Care Licensure

Licensure Advances in MA House of Representatives

After years of advocacy, the State legislature took a massive step towards passing home care licensure for non-medical services. The State House of Representatives voted 153-1 to pass HCA home care licensure bill, which would establish baseline standards for agencies to ensure a quality network of providers for consumers and keep services affordable for those who rely on them.

While the passing of the bill is a major step forward, more is needed to be done. Attention now turns to the Senate that will still need to pass their version of the licensure bill. The licensure bill is currently before the Senate Committee on Health Care Financing. To help our advocacy efforts please use this ACTION ALERT, to urge your state Senator to support licensure.
