State House Gallery Exhibition: Showcase Caregiving on Beacon Hill
Join HCA in honoring the caregivers and patients who make home the center of care.
Every November, we and those around the country recognize National Home Care and Hospice Month. This year, we asking members to help us share the work that you do through pictures to highlight the importance and impact we have on Massachusetts residents' ability to be where they want to be: home. We will collect these pictures and stories for the next month and have reserved gallery space at the State House to bring awareness to our lawmakers in December. This is a great opportunity to recognize our workforce, patients and bring our work to light on Beacon Hill. For more information, please visit this webpage.
State Keeps Estimated Revenues, Expecting Slowdown but Not Recession
Budget chief Matthew Gorzkowicz made no change at Wednesday's deadline to the estimate that the state will take in $43.614 billion in tax collections this budget year, but said he is prepared to recommend midyear budget cuts if economic conditions erode in the coming months. The secretary of the Executive Office of Administration and Finance said his decision is based on testimony from Sept. 30's midyear economic roundtable, which he said "affirms that forecasts anticipate a slowing economy rather than a recession" roughly in line with the December 2024 forecasts that underpinned the start of the fiscal year 2026 process.
