Research Study Seeks Home Health Aides to Advance Workforce and Care Research

Agencies are encouraged to share a paid research opportunity with eligible dementia caregivers. Participants will complete a brief confidential interview and receive a $40 Amazon gift card for their time.

Bedford, MA — A new research study led by VA Bedford Healthcare System and University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking to connect with home health aides across Massachusetts and New England to better understand their experiences, challenges, and contributions to care delivery.

The study is being conducted by Emma D. Quach, PhD, a Research Health Scientist with the Center for Health Optimization and Implementation Research (CHOIR) at the New England Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center (GRECC), and a Research Assistant Professor at UMass Lowell. Findings from this research will help inform future workforce policy, program design, and support strategies for home health aides.

Researchers are asking home care and home health agencies to assist by sharing a brief study flyer with their networks and staff. Any support—including advice on effective ways to reach home health aides—will help strengthen participation and advance this important work.

Participation details and study information are outlined in the flyer. Dr. Quach is also available to answer questions or discuss the study by phone or Microsoft Teams.
