New Alliance Resource: Dementia Care Guide for Families and Caregivers

A compassionate, practical resource to help families navigate the complexities of late-stage dementia care.

In recognition of Home Care & Caregiver Month, we’re pleased to share a new member benefit: the Dementia Care Patient & Caregiver Guide, developed by the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation. This easy-to-use handbook supports families caring for someone in the late stages of dementia—with clear guidance on safety, comfort, symptom changes, and what to expect as needs increase.

Inside, you’ll find practical information on recognizing late-stage signs, creating a safe home environment, managing medications and pain, and understanding when hospice and palliative care can help. The guide also outlines the full care team—from nurses and aides to social workers and chaplains—and offers essential questions to ask providers as care needs evolve.

Members can download complimentary copies from the RESOURCES section of the MEMBER HUB to share with caregivers and families.
