Federal reporting requirement applies to all hospice programs—ensure data is submitted on time.

May 15 deadline for staff flu and COVID vaccination reporting for hospice programs

Hospice programs should be prepared to meet the May 15 deadline for reporting staff influenza

Massachusetts hospice programs must submit 2025-2026 aggregate health care personnel influenza and COVID-19 vaccination data to the Department of Public Health by May 15, 2026, as a condition of licensure. The requirement applies to all licensed hospice programs, with annual seasonal influenza vaccination and up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination required for health care personnel unless an exemption applies.

The reporting deadline carries compliance significance for hospice providers because DPH regulations tie vaccination oversight directly to licensure expectations. DPH said only submissions made through the REDCap survey will be accepted, narrowing the reporting pathway and raising the importance of timely internal data validation.  Submit data to REDCap link.

Providers should focus on completing aggregate staff vaccination counts, verifying exemption documentation, and confirming that reporting has already been filed if a submission has already been completed. Late or incomplete reporting could create unnecessary regulatory exposure during survey activity or licensure review.

The next key date is May 15, with hospice leaders expected to confirm submission status, close data gaps, and direct questions to DPH before the deadline.
