Celebrating Nurses Week Across Massachusetts

This year’s Nurses Week theme, “The Power of Nurses,” recognizes the strength, compassion, and leadership nurses bring to care at home every day.

More than 6,000 registered nurses and LPNs deliver care in homes across Massachusetts — supporting patients, families, and communities in every corner of the Commonwealth.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off National Nurses Week.

This year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses,” recognizes the extraordinary strength, compassion, and impact nurses have in driving change throughout healthcare and within the communities they serve.

Every day, more than 6,000 registered nurses and LPNs provide care to patients in their homes across Massachusetts. Whether supporting recovery after hospitalization, managing chronic illness, delivering hospice care, coordinating complex clinical services, or helping patients remain safely at home, nurses are central to the success of care at home.

I am continually humbled by the stories we hear from members about the compassion, professionalism, and dedication of nurses working in the field each day. At the same time, I am equally inspired by the many nurses serving in leadership positions throughout our membership — helping shape organizations, mentor teams, advocate for patients, and guide the future of care at home in Massachusetts.

The Alliance will be celebrating nurses throughout the week, and we encourage all member organizations to do the same. We would love to hear your stories and see the ways your teams are recognizing and celebrating nurses within your organizations and communities.
