OASIS Items – How One Item Can Impact Your Reimbursement and Outcomes

March 25, 1:00 - 2:00 pm

This session will focus on the OASIS items that affect your PDGM functional impairment score and value based purchasing score, including M1800s, M1033 and GG items. We will take a deep dive into the point system tied to the responses of these items, and how they can impact your PDGM episodic reimbursement and your clinical outcome potential!

Each Clinical Group, based on the primary diagnosis, has a range of points that put your patient’s episode into a Low, Medium or High Functional Impairment Level. A patient with a Clinical Group of Musculoskeletal Rehab needs 32 points to be a Medium Functional Impairment 46 points to be a High Functional Impairment. The point difference in moving your patient from Medium to High can be in the response to one OASIS item.

Join us for an informative session to learn which OASIS items impact your PDGM and VBP scores, and how to make sure you are maximizing your opportunities!

  • Identify the most impactful OASIS items for quality review and on-going staff education.
  • Understand the structure of the OASIS point system to maximize reimbursement and clinical outcome opportunities
  • Reduce under-scoring functional impairment, but ensure you have adequate documentation to support scoring.
