This session will review the top home health and hospice denials and tips on avoiding these denials in the future. We will also review the Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) process and discuss how to improve your documentation to meet Medicare coverage requirements. This session is aimed at assisting providers in minimizing claim errors through systematic reviews and tailored educational support. Participants will gain valuable insights into home health and hospice review regulations, best practices for documentation, and develop effective strategies for tackling common denial reasons and compliance challenges. The course offers essential resources to sustain and improve Medicare compliance.

Speakers
Alison Hamilton R.N., Medical Review Case Manager. Alison has 14 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse, with the last 7 years spent at National Government Services. Her NGS work spans both the Medical Review and Case Management teams. In her current role, Alison is focused on fostering innovation and delivering high-quality education to healthcare providers through the Targeted Probe and Educate process and helps navigate the complexities of the Medicare guidelines.
Christa Shipman, Provider Outreach and Education Consultant. Christa has over 27 years’ experience with NGS. She started in the Provider Contact Center, then moved on to become an internal trainer for PCC representatives. For the past 19 years she has specialized in educating home health and hospice providers on proper Medicare billing practices. Her commitment to excellence and passion for continuous improvement drives her to engage with the provider community by creating job aids, articles, and educational videos, as well as host live sessions to enhance understanding of Medicare guidelines. Christa enjoys opportunities to engage directly with providers, always striving to foster positive experiences when navigating the world of Medicare.
