Massachusetts Home Care Licensure Hearing: Advocating for H.789/S.470
Join HCA and Members in Supporting Legislation to License Non-Medical Home Care Services
On Monday April 14th, the Massachusetts Legislature's Joint Committee on Aging and Independence will host a hearing on H.789/S.470, An Act to Improve Massachusetts Home Care which would establish a blueprint to license non-medical home care services. As many of you know, The Alliance has championed home care licensure for over 15 years.
HCA will testify at the hearing, alongside a couple of its members - with the message that the time is now to license this segment of our industry. As demand grows, and new operators are entering the marketplace, creating minimum standards for all providers to adhere to is critical to protecting consumers, workers and to level the playing field across the industry.
There are more details below, but I invite you to consider submitting your own testimony to the Committee in support of advancing this legislation this legislative session.
